The Mare Pasture

The Mare Pasture is a visionary plan for sustainable housing and living designed by renowned Tucson architect John Riggs. John grew up on Red Wing Ranch, which includes The Mare Pasture, and is a descendant of Brannick Riggs, founder of the original Riggs Settlement and family ranches in Cochise County. The Mare Pasture consists of 1,088 acres and is a part of the much larger Red Wing Ranch, which is itself a 10,000 acre part in the history of the Riggs Family and southern Arizona ranching.  John is passionate about preserving his family’s heritage and the beautiful open rangelands of Southeastern Arizona.
